As Charlotte pieces together the confidential conspiracies and concealed ambitions of the Mickwac criminal elite, she comes face to face with hints that her own secrets may be far more known than they should be—and those secrets could be at the center of a conspiracy that threatens the Magical Midway and all those she cares about.

Can Charlotte find Tabitha, protect the circus’s secrets, and stop the conspiracy—before it’s too late?

4.5 Stars... Charlotte finds herself in the center of another mystery when she is called back to Texas due to an old friend's disappearance... As the mystery unfolds, Charlotte discovers her secrets may not be as well hidden as she thought leaving the Magical Midway and the Makepeace Circuses vulnerable to a pending threat... When all the pieces of the puzzle finally come together, the picture is one of deception and betrayal... Leanne Leeds leaves us with a bit of a cliffhanger in this read giving us just enough bait to anticipate what is to come... A truly entertaining read from start to finish:)

A Call to Charms is another fun read from Leanne Leeds and the Magical Midway cozy paranormal series.  Ms Leeds' character and world building make you feel you know these people.

I really enjoy a these totally enjoyable and relaxing stories. Charlotte's experiences moving from being a normal human to becoming Ringmaster of a magical circus full of paranormals fits the bill.  There is always someting to challenge her right to be the Ringmaster.  If it's not the Witches Council, it's humans wanting magic.

Charlotte is trying to deal with Gunther becoming Ringmaster of the Makepeace Circus and what will happen to their future when she finds out her best friend Tabitha Stevens has mysteriously disappeared from Mickwac. Charlotte immediately moves the Magical Midway back to the human world and her small Texas hometown to help find Tabitha.

She finds herself face to face with the ambitions of the newest Mickwac criminal elite who seem to know about her magical powers. The more she searches for her friend, the more hints she gets that her own secrets may be far more known than they should be.  What has Tabitha got herself into and is the Witches Council involved?

You'll just need to read this book to find out how all this comes together.  But I warn you, there is a cliffhanger ending, so the next installment had better be out soon.

While not a deep and inciteful story, there are lessons to be learned regarding trust, lies, secrets, and power hungry desires in this page turning, thoroughly enjoyable story.  All this deserves 5 stars. I'm looking forward to Charlotte's next misadventure.

I asked to do this book via a newsletter request. When I was sent the link (by author) to the website to claim the book, the site said not to obtain the book if you haven't previously read the books or not familiar with the genre. I love paranormal cozy mysteries.

Now I have not read the previous books. However, I can say that if you read the book just focusing on the current crisis, you can follow the story and not be lost. There are lots of references to previous books that you can tell the books definitely build on each other. You will probably want to go back and catch up. Remember if reading this one first, then to just focus on the current story line.

Bit of spoiler alert. the book ends with a 'semi' cliffhanger. I also would like to know what the people are planning. Also Tabitha's game? So read the series.

The reason I gave it fours stars and not five is that this site does not let me do 4.5 stars. i stated the book end of June and had most of it done. However, I had another author's beta read to get done. SO I put it down to do my beta read (which I feel is an honor to be asked). I was able to pick it back up about a little over a week later. I started right where I left off and finished it July holiday. Here is why not five stars: the book did not create an urgency to get right back to it and finish immediately. I like to read and finish my books. It is very rare that I do a couple at a time. The lack of urgency in the story and that I could put it down and come back to later at any point is why I gave it four stars. Especially since I have just finished different book that just blew me out of the water when writing this review.

this is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.

Charlotte is back in Texas after hearing the news that her best friend has disappeared. Her and her friends start to investigate and finding out that situations and people are sometimes what they aren;t. Tabitha;s parents are not what they seem and when she;s sent to the local coven things there are weird too. This case is very important to Charlotte but along with it comes worry about Gunter and what he is hiding from her. There seems to be too many humans who may know about the magical paranormal world she now lives in. Will she find Tabitha and does the witch;s council have anything to do with her disappearance.
Another spectacular story in this series. Mind boggling and insightful.
Fantastic story and read!!

In the sixth book of the Magic Midway Circus Mysteries, Charlotte gets the information that her former best friend, Tabitha, went missing a few days ago.
Charlotte and her crew of motley friends try to figure out what happened, when Charlotte is attacked by an unknown force that almost gets through the Ringmaster's protection. Worried about her people as well as the humans of her hometown, the finds out more than she had bargained for.
Thrilling adventure mixed in with the mystery of Tabitha's disappearance makes this a great read, entertaining and fun to read thanks to the many really unusual characters in the book.

Charlotte finds herself back in Mickwac when she receives a call that her best friend Tabitha is missing. Tabitha’s parents are of no help as one is an alcoholic and the other is abusive. What she doesn’t expect is to come to face with a new criminal element that seems to know about her magical powers. Can Charlotte weed through all of the lies, secrets, mistrusts, and power struggles to find her friend? And is the Witches Council somehow involved in Tabitha’s disappearance?

This is a suspenseful paranormal mystery that is left with a cliffhanger, but the reader won’t mind as this is just another enjoyable page-turning story in the Magical Midway series.

This is an enjoyable series about a magical circus, or two, and its continuing battle to survive, against both the witches council and also some less paranormal adversaries as well.
I do like the various characters, who are all very well written and quite unique, well most of them are paranormal beings.
However, this book is rather frustrating as it chronicles the worsening problems facing the circus, but doesn't actually get to the root of what those problems are, hopefully the books to come will explain why they are facing so many issues, and return the series to its 4 star level.

I enjoyed this book in the Magical Midway series. It has great characters, humour, danger, and a missing friend. The storyline is great and flowed nicely throughout the story. Is the Witches Council involved in Tabitha's current problems and how does the Mickwac criminal elite fit it?

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

The drama related to sorting past and present relationships and needs brings more peril and drama.

And again the existence of the Magical Midway and its inhabitants swings in the balance.

Deception and truths seem to be at the heart of winning or losing everything.

Intense and angst filled adventures.

the beginning and end both rest on failure to trust, listen & act

Is the secret out?

This time the story happens away from the Magical Midway. Charlotte has come home to find a missing friend. It seems that a lot of people might know about her magical secret. Can she find her friend in time?

Another enjoyable entry in the Magical Midway series.

I received an ARC. This is my honest review.

This continuation of the Magical Midway Paranormal series shows how the main character is growing into her new role as a very powerful but not-yet-aware-of-her-full-capabilities witch. It's a fun read with great twists and turns. The ending leads into the next book which leaves the reader excited to know what is going to happen next! Enjoy!

Great Story – Cliffhanger Ending
I love this series and this episode is a great addition to it. My big complaint is the Cliffhanger ending. Now we have to wait for the next episode to see what happens...The plot of this story is great. It opens up many new doors in the paranormal vs the human world. I received this ARC book for free from Booksprouts and this is my honest review.

I'm beginning to think that Gunther could really do better. Charlotte started out of a strong, intelligent woman thrown into a surreal situation. Now ... she's clearly in need of growing up and in need of brains.

Missing

Charlotte gets word that her friend is missing. She moves the circus to her parents and starts looking for her friend. With obstacles in her way she is able to search for her friend. Others are talking about her being a witch which no one should know.

Excellent series

This book was very suspenseful and answers some questions, but it raises many more. Definite cliff hanger at the end.

Charlotte is now the new ringmaster and is in charge of the magical circus. To the human world, she has left home and gone off to cities/countries anew, which is no surprise as many young people leave home for the brighter lights of the big cities. But her ex-best friend does not think so; she is worried about Charlotte's disappearance and wonders if Charlotte is in trouble. And Tabitha's investigating ends up with Tabitha herself disappearing! When Charlotte hears about this, she hurries back to the human realm, determined to help her friend. Even though they parted on non-speaking terms, Tabitha and Charlotte share a history of growing up together and Charlotte was not about to abandon her. But things are not what they seem.....

Although this is part of an on-going story, you can read it as a standalone, but be aware that it ends on a "to be continued..." note. A fun and interesting read, one that makes you want to carry on and find out what will happen in the next book!

Good Story

While I enjoyed the storyline very much, this is the first book in the series where the story felt incomplete. One of the major plotlines was completed, but I still had several questions, important ones, that were not addressed, e.g. "The book." Where is it, where did it come from. Plus this book had a big cliffhanger at the end. I hate cliffhangers. Will I read the next book? Yes, the series is too interesting to stop now. But it will give me pause about any other series by this author. I do not buy books if I know they have cliffhangers. This series is very good. A cliffhanger is not necessary to get fans to buy the next in series. Just saying.
