Happy New Year!

After a lot of trial and error, we seem to have hit on a way to get everyone what they want (including me)! All new releases will follow the same timing unless some unforeseen (late rewrite) thing happens. That schedule is:

1. Two weeks before a formal release date, I’ll email out to the newsletter with a link to get a new e-book release for just 99¢—yes, we’re going back to 99¢ discounted releases. There will be a very, very limited number of these available, and it’s first come-first served. Once the number of copies allotted for early discounted release are done, they’re done. Sold out, finito, no more. (Typically, those discount copies sell out in 4-6 hours.) If the release is normally priced at 99¢, the discounted release price will be just 1¢.
2. One week before the formal release, I’ll email with a link to the paperback release as well as a link to purchase the new e-book release at full price for those non-Amazon shoppers, folks that prefer an e-pub, or folks that just want to read the book early before anyone else. There will be an unlimited number of copies for this, but that link will be shut down one day before the book’s e-book release date.
3. On release day, I’ll send out an email reminding the KU folks that it’s their turn to go borrow the book.

Early releases purchases are paid through PayPal and delivered immediately through Bookfunnel, so folks grabbing e-books that way will get the books early.

In the first quarter of 2020 there’s a book coming out every month! If you’re not on my mailing list, now would be a great time to join.

Happy holidays to everyone! December’s been a busy month here at the Leeds’ household. When Curse Comes to Love is finished, edited, and getting ready to be formatted. It will make its January release with no delays, thank goodness. (ARC members should be on the lookout for the book around New Year’s Day.) This will be the final book in the 8-book Magical Midway series.

This series was a lot of fun to write, but it was my first paranormal cozy series, and as I look back? I definitely see some things I would have done differently. I went very heavy on the fantasy, and lighter on the mysteries than I think I should have looking back. All in all, it’s a series I’m proud of but the next series will see some of those issues I think the series had addressed.

The next series, Mystic’s End Mysteries, will focus much more on the mysteries and, since it takes place in the real world, and not be as heavy on the fantasy. There will still be witches, of course, and strange paranormal happenings, but the overarching paranormal plot will be a bit easier to follow even if you jump in and out of the series at different points.

Mystic Guests is currently locked, loaded, and done—but it contains some spoilers referencing events that happen in When Curse Comes to Love, so I won’t be releasing it until after Book 8 has a bit of time to get out there. This week, I’ll be starting on Book 2, Angel in Demise, and the first three books in the Mystic’s End Mysteries are available for pre-order on Amazon.

I have posted the first book in the new Fortuna Delphi series for pre-order on Amazon. Since it’s a first-in-series, it will retail for just 99¢ permanently to give you a chance to see if you like it. There’s been a surprising amount of interest in it, and I’m really gratified that folks seem to be looking forward to it with such enthusiasm!

Writing-wise, I’m finishing up When Curse Comes to Love, the final book in the Magical Midway series. That one’s up for pre-order as well. As soon as that’s with the editor, I’ll start on Mystic End’s second book. That one will be released a few weeks after the first one (which, again, you can pre-order).

At the moment, and primarily because of the enthusiasm that I’m seeing for Fortuna’s series, 2020 looks like it’ll be a Mystic’s End year all the way through. I had contemplated starting a third series, but I’d rather get this one going with frequent releases before elongating your wait in between books with a new one.

2020 will also see a Magical Midway compendium released on the paranormal creatures in the Magical Midway—it’s currently being written entry by entry and released through my newsletter.

Hey, folks – yet again, I forgot to post here when Book 7 was released last month. I think rather than try to remind myself to blog, I’ll just drop in here and post once a month with updates. Works? Awesome.

So, aside from Halloween, what’s up in October? The second Boxed Set with Books 4-6 should be making their way to the various storefronts. Once all the pre-order links are live, I’ll get the book added to the site here. The release will be November 15th, 2019.

This week I’m finishing up Fortuna’s first book for her series for Spring 2020 release. I’m still undecided about the series title, but it will be permafree, so ya’ll have that to look forward to.

Next week, I’ll start on Book 8 in the Magical Midway series—this will be the final book in this series, though it won’t be the last we see of many of the characters. Speaking of, we’re going to start a weekly rundown of some characters’ history, inspirations and so on.
